Merchant of the Month – Sungevity

This month we are recognizing a merchant that has been with Dharma since early 2007 and whose business has grown exponentially. Sungevity is an Oakland, Ca.-based provider of solar energy systems that has revolutionized how solar systems are evaluated, marketed, and financed. They developed the technology to assess the feasibility and cost of installing solar panels using satellite imagery of a home’s orientation and location without making an onsite visit. More importantly, they have made powering with the sun a financial benefit with unique leasing, in house, and “pay as you  go”  financing  plans, in addition to rebates and incentives that could further lower the costs of going solar.  And in keeping with our theme of conscious philanthropy, Sungevity has raised over $1.5 million for their nonprofit partners and has committed to giving a solar powered light to school children in Zambia for every system sold. This in addition to the millions of trees that have been saved as well as the hundreds of thousands of tons of carbon that have been eliminated by the systems that have been installed. This is doing the right thing at the most meaningful level and we are honored to be a part of Sungevity’ s success and service.

Please note: while Dharma was a Registered B Corp at the time of this posting, it no longer is.
