Merchant of the Month

Grace Café, first of its kind! This restaurant based in Danville, Kentucky has a most unusual model of pay-what-you-can, and serves fresh, locally sourced, organic, and highly nutritious food to their community. They do not have a cash register or set pricing on their menu! Instead, they accept donations for whatever their patrons think the meal is worth. The model is based on the One World Everybody Eats Foundation (OWEE). In their community of 16,000 residents, nearly 25% fall below the poverty line and do not always know where their next meal is coming from. Grace Café’s stated philosophy is that everyone, regardless of economic status, deserves the chance to eat healthy food while being treated with dignity. Food will be paid for at market prices and donations of first-rate, locally grown produce and foods will be accepted. As a nonprofit organization, they are not beholden to increase shareholder value, rather they are living the principle of serving others and giving back to the community. We totally wish Grace Café success and abundance and joy as they open their doors in July!
